About Us
The Animal Clinic & Equine Center (AC & EC) is owned and operated by Dr. Robert L. Leonard.  Dr. Leonard was raised in Mountain View, Missouri.  He graduated from the University of Missouri, School of Veterinary Medicine.  He has practiced veterinary medicine in West Plains since 1974, and from this clinic since 1980.

Dr. Leonard is single and his personal interests include horses and travel.  For almost twenty years he has been contributing a weekly article to the local daily newspaper, the West PlainsDaily Quill , on horse related topics.  Many of these articles are included in this web site.  Over time, there have been many changes in technology, treatments, and recommended approaches to various horse diseases and conditions.  Ideally, any discrepancies within these articles are due to the ongoing dynamic, progressive, and exciting study of this fantastic animal we know as the horse.
