Step 3, Filling the grids and spreading the top layer:

For our installation we used washed sand. Remarkably, we are able to use the same type of sand for both final steps: for filling the grids as well as for the top layer.
Durable and Flexible
The grids are capable of withstanding payloads of up to
35,000 lbs./square foot.
Distribution of the filling and the application of the top layer are very easy, because . . .
heavy equipment and
dump trucks may be used.

The trucks are backing onto the area,
evenly unloading the sand.
![]() The next truck can then drive on top of the previously filled grids to unload.

Tractors may be used during regular, routine maintenance - as well as during installation - even during the rainy season.
The delivery trucks may be driven on top of the grid during the application process.
Conveniently, the anti-skid cleats on the topsides of each grid allow easy handling while providing excellent traction.
